Back to the Future (1985)

Back to the Future is a 1985 science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis and Bob Gale. The film stars Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, a teenager who is accidentally sent back in time to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean car invented by his eccentric inventor friend, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). While in the past, Marty inadvertently disrupts his parents' meeting and must make sure they fall in love, while also trying to find a way to get back to the present.

Back to the Future was a huge critical and commercial success and became a cultural phenomenon. It spawned two sequels (Back to the Future Part II and Part III) and a animated series. The film is known for its clever premise, excellent cast, and memorable characters and quotes. It is widely regarded as a classic of the science fiction genre and one of the greatest films of all time.
