Back to the Future is a 1985 science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis and Bob Gale. The film stars Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, a teenager who is accidentally sent back in time to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean car invented by his eccentric inventor friend, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd).
